New DriverAgent Download Available

DriverAgent.com is now available in a downloadable executable format in addition to the classic browser plug-in. The new DriverAgent version was created to meet customer requests for a convenient and easy-to-use download. The downloaded version is very small in size at under 500k and can run from any folder within the Windows operating system. Users now have a choice to run DriverAgent directly from the browser by installing the plug-in, or to download the executable and run it from their desktop. No matter which way users choose to use DriverAgent, they will continue to get all the same great features and functionality that it has garnered a reputation for.

DriverAgent Localization

TouchStone Software Corporation announced today that it has completed localization of its web application "DriverAgent" -- the premier device driver scan and updating service -- for French speaking users. "With this localization complete, translation into many other languages is now possible", said Chris Dunigan Director of Product Management. "This is part of an overall strategy to globalize our Internet-based businesses. The French localized version our web application DriverAgent was the first step towards that goal; other language translations are in process".

Statistical data obtained for DriverAgent.com through Google Analytics(TM) indicate that approximately 11% of visitors to DriverAgent.com are using a Spanish language browser, 9% German, 8% Portuguese, 8% French, and 5% Russian. "We're determined to penetrate non-English speaking markets and to provide them with a better user experience overall" Dunigan said.

DriverAgent.com has broken the 100,000 device driver update mark, and continues to grow every day.

We strive to provide you with the most, and latest device drivers available.

Cumulative Security Update for IE (912812) for Win9x/ME

The Driver Agent ActiveX control will not install when this security update has been loaded on to your computer. The installation will fail without any specific error message.

We have updated our ActiveXCheck program. Now when it is run, it will detect this situation, and display the appropriate installation error. In this case it will be "(800b0111) The certificate was explicitly marked as untrusted by the user".

The Driver Agent plugin for Opera, Firefox, K-Meleon and Netscape is unaffected by this problem.
