Graphics & Web Designer

Are you a talented Graphics & Web Designer eager to fully utilize your skills? Does the idea of having your graphic designs seen by millions of website visitors each month excite you? Then look no further because we're looking for you! If you can channel your creativity into great looking graphics for use in our websites, our applications and in our publications then we want to talk to you.

In this position you'll work closely with Product Management and Software Development creating concept designs, product branding images, user interface designs, web page front-ends, and all type of various artwork and layouts. This is a full-time position with the possibility of working part of the time from home, the other part in the office (located in North Andover, MA).

Example Job Functions:

• Refresh, redesign and tweak the layout and graphics for existing web sites.
• Create images for branding and product recognition, including logos.
• Design new graphics and layout for HTML email campaigns.
• Design the front-end for an entirely new website to fill a business need, come up with the concept, the design, the graphics and layout, etc.
• Create a library of graphics for use on websites and in applications.
• Come up with ideas to keep website content fresh, including creation of seasonal artwork, etc.
• Create new user interface designs, from templates to the individual graphic elements.
• Assist with different vehicles of communication and advertising: print, newsletters, online and email.
• Create concepts and artwork samples to demonstrate new ideas and themes.
• Create animated objects to be used on websites or in software applications.
• Assume an ownership role of the company's websites, take pride in their composition – we'll depend on you to keep them looking great! Ensures web pages are functional across different browser types.
• Be the "go to" person for everything art and graphics related.

Required Skills:

• Must have a graphics design background, and have an artist's sense of layout and composition.
• Must be skilled in using graphic design tools such as: PhotoShop, 3DMax, etc.
• Must have in-depth knowledge of HTML and CSS
• Must be creative and willing to come up with and propose new ideas.
• Must be able to work independently or as work as part of a team to either give or take direction.

Additional Skills:

While we are primarily interested in an individual with an artistic sense, demonstrating exceptional graphics design skills – the addition of technical skills will be a big plus and the candidate with both will have an edge and get preference.

• Web page development tools (example: Dreamweaver, Photoshop, etc).
• Code development to integrate artwork, text, video, and sound into company websites.
• Develop multimedia code graphics(example: Flex or Flash, or animated images).
• Browser Client-side scripting languages (Javascript, AJAX, etc).
• HTML programming and debugging.
• Web system administration, including working with control panel software, managing files, keeping backups, etc.
• Meet and maintain compliance of accessibility standards.
• Introduce new web technologies and trends to put us ahead of the competition.
• Experience with web technologies such as CSS, XHTML and XML.
• PHP, MySQL knowledge would be considered a big plus.
• Knowledge of source control also considered a plus.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 4 years experience as a graphics designer.
• College degree in graphics design, or in a related field or discipline.
• Exceptional communication skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
• Must be able to provide a portfolio demonstrating capabilities.
